I am an avid fan of this French designer in the name of Roger Vivier who specializes in stiletto heel shoes embraced by renowned names in fashion and showbiz industry such as Katie Holmes, Ava Gardner, Gloria Guinness, Queen Elizabeth II and the Beatles.
He designed spectacular and extravagant richly-decorated shoes as his sculptures. Beautiful, unique and ultra-feminine, like something a fairy tale shoes. He has been called the “Fragonard of the shoes” after he made the stiletto heel using a thin rod of steel encased in wood or plastic.
Although Roger Vivier past away in 1998, he always remain one of the most renowned and legendary shoe designers of all time. He created unique designed shoes for his clients, among them are the famous designers Dior, Courrege and Delman. In the year 2002, the shoe mogul behind the shoe lines of Hogan’s and Tod’s, Diego della Valle acquired the name Roger Vivier and opened a boutique in Paris in 2004.
