The Realm of Italian Fashion Designers

Below is the list of the Italian fashion designers which is my favorite and for sure, almost all fashionistas would love to own an original belonging to anyone of them.

Prada

Literally, Miuccia Prada may not have been qualified as an Italian fashion designer, but she took over the Prada label and helped it scale new heights. It was Mario Prada who began this most sought after label in 1913. With Miuccia’s talent and leadership skills, one can see various exclusive boutiques of this brand, around the world. Prada with its innovative designs and global appeal, rates as one of the leading brands all over.

Giorgio Armani

One of the renowned Italian fashion designers of all times, the name behind the famous perfumes and other fashion stuffs, Giorgio Armani. He first introduced thelabel in 1974-1975 with all the finesse and class that reflected in his designs as well. Sophisticated clothing combined with a fashionable appeal, Armani gained a strong foothold when he launched his own design house in Milan in 1975. The Armani label now includes a variety of products apart from clothes such as perfume, shoes, sunglasses and even lingerie. Giorgio Armani is known for his elegant, well structured and relaxed clothing.

Gucci

Guccio Gucci, the designer behind the famous Gucci. He is known for his leather craftsmanship and accessories. The Bamboo bag was the first and one of the many products that caused quite a sensation. Gucci achieved stupendous success when he opened chain of stores in Milan and New York. In the year 1998, Gucci was named the European Company of the Year . Recently, the classic designs are being revamped and still have a very strong and loyal fan following.

Dolce and Gabbana

The fashion duo, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana is also one of the hottest Italian fashion designers of all times. It was their passion and unique approach to their designs that finally saw the duo getting a break in 1985 when they were short listed in the top three, to showcase their collections for a show in Milan. Dolce and Gabbana used varied colors and targeted women from different backgrounds, which got them a wider acceptance for their label.

Roberto Cavalli

Known for his finely crafted leather designs, Roberto Cavalli belongs to the array of multitalented Italian fashion designers. This fashion house is finest in men and women’s wear, kid’s wear, and other fashion accessories. Roberto Cavalli has always been experimental as far as his sense of fashion was concerned and he is a gifted artist as well known for his wild and flirtatious designs with experimentation in materials.

Fendi

Signifying the double F’s, the list of Italian fashion designers would not be complete without the mention of Fendi. The label was founded by Adele Casagrande and was later named after his wife, Edoardo Fendi. Fendi is known for it fur accessories and ready to wear garments and this fashion empire rewrote all the rules of fashion with its varied and fashionable designs.
Some of the other Italian fashion designers that created history with their innovative designs are Versace, Valentino, Ferragamo, Trussardi etc. Italian fashion models too are gaining a strong foothold in the fashion industry. It is therefore seen why Italy has been the home of such creative designers and also successful fashion weeks, which give a platform for creative talent.
