A Gap for Stella McCartney
A working mom, a wife,an actress and a designer, Stella McCartney is teaming up with Gap for the new line both for kids and babies (GapKids and BabyGap), which will about to launch later this year.
“For years now I’ve wanted to create a collection for children, it’s something I’ve often been asked about. I believe that this one off collaboration will be a great way for customers to be able to participate in the Stella McCartney brand.” the designer said.
The ongoing global recession urged her to create the affordable line clothing designed especially for kids. The collection will be available in United States, Britain, France, Canada, Ireland, Japan and through online store.
She said: “I believe that kids’ clothing should be more accessibly priced, which is particularly important at the moment given the current climate. It’s really exciting for us to do a boys and girls collection for the first time.”
She’s not the only designer that creates and stimulates the hunger of everybody towards fashion.
Comme des Garcons’ founder Rei Kawakubo has designed the newest collection in black. According to her, black will bring “positive energy” at a time of economic crisis.
The Black collection will be launch globally in upcoming weeks including the versions of renowned Comme des Garcons pieces refashion in the color to give tribute for the label’s 40th birthday.
She explained: “I start every collection with one word. I can never remember where this one word came from. I never start a collection with some historical, social, cultural or any other concrete reference or memory. After I find the word, I then do not develop it in any logical way.”
