Chloe Girl

Chloe Model

A 38-year old British Hannah MacGibbon is the new designer for Chloe, hired to spice up the spring collection and reconnect with the customer who would once spend anything to get her hands on a sexy and trophy one of a kind piece.

Who is a Chloe girl?

She is the girl who has an understated chic. Always present and comfortable in her body. Her step is light and assertive, her touch is true and real.

Her attitude has become sexier as she grown up. She is aware of celebrating and enhancing her femininity. She still remains a girl eternal on the inside and most of all she is a rare flower of paradise.

The shapes are not complicated without any fuss, the lines are pure and clean just like cutting paper in the air and embellishment was being emphasized.

The color palette of nudes and powdered hues signature to the house are enhanced with shades from the desert, sands, coral, amber, brick, terracotta and the shades of sun are mixed with richer undertones of metallic bronze, copper and midnight blue.

Textures of shine and powder in an array of fabrics are contrasted in silhouettes. Print, lame and lace combine with a plastic shoe creating an exotic mixture. An emphasis on shorts show off beautiful legs.

Floppy tailoring has been the center of the collection. Great concentration is paid in the way the fabric hangs from a defined shoulder. Jackets in a light crepe or more structured in a bonded lame accentuate this attitude for chloe. There is an ease in the trousers using light crepe de chines.

This fashion statement is also translated into long dresses. The jumpsuit styled in a variety of forms and textures brings a strong statement to the collection. Lace is bonded or backed into lighter textures, giving a smooth durable effect. Tops and blouses remain light and airy with emphasis on the volume of the shoulder and the silhouettes outlined in scallop. The day outfits at the heart of Chloe are made in cotton chambray putting attention on the waist.

The clothes speak to women’s heart and soul. In conform to a sense of realism and wearability of clothes has been the basis of creating the new Chloe image.

Cutting Prices on Luxury Goods in the U.S. Fashion Market

Have you ever heard the news about the luxury-good manufacturers in the U.S. fashion market lately and still like hotcakes hitting via online or even on fashion channels today? Good News to all fellow fashionistas or even on local and international celebrities. This is for you!

As reported by a credible online source from The Wall Street Journal, luxury-good makers are cutting their prices on most designer apparels, shoes and handbags exclusively in the US market. It was said that the prices were cut from 8% to 10% on most designer products sold in the US.

I never thought that these designer moguls such as Chanel, Versace, Christian Louboutin and Chloé would slash their prices into the highest level even their suggested prices are increasing at least once a year despite of the poor economy.

It seems that this is good news to everyone! You can now probably count a designer bag with over thousands of dollars and shoes on your wardrobe.

louis vuitton logoDuring the recent prosperous years, most luxury companies assumed that money was not a big issue for their loyal fans. The French fashion house, Louis Vuitton, never moved their prices at this moment, they are remain as what they are. Proved that consumers are still patronizing their goods even the prices are still increasing twice for an average increase of 10% and sales have still continued to rise.

hermes logoThe sales for Hermes began slipping and it has hardly dared to raise their prices. The commercial teams will decide by January whether they are increase or lower their prices in US and Japan territory. “We must take the market’s capacity to absorb the price hikes into account” says Mireille Maury, Hermes’s managing director for finance and administration.

chanel logoChanel moved early to cut their prices last month. The fashion house decided to cut its prices by 7% to 10% on most of their items that are striking the US stores now. “The dollar’s recent strength has allowed us to pass on greater value to our customers” says John Galantic, the company’s U.S. based president fro Chanel. The company encouraged other renowned designer such as Dolce & Gabbana, Versace and Chloe to lower their prices as well.

This is to be the first time for most major fashion houses in the US cuts their prices at hike maybe the rebound of the dollar plus the global recession is the main reason to this hot issue. Let’s see the possible outcome for this next year…

The Cutting Edge of Chloe

“How does it feel to be finally in charge at Chloé? ”Oh, it’s heaven!” a warm respond of a tired but gladdened 38-year old blond British designer, Hannah MacGibbon. As we all know, she assisted Phoebe Philo from 1997 through the label’s red-hot early-halfhearted days to heat back up again after some tepid seasons.

Here she comes, let’s bow our head and praise our Chloe Princess as she enters the kingdom this winter season.

Sassy, sexy and ultra cool, Chloé is a paradox of both feminity and romance infused with a Parisian street-creed edge.

To my Chloe Girl whose urban tedium never faded her lust for life with an aristocratic past and to the present wild side.

“One day, she is in a fox, beaver and coyote jacket, insouciantly worn with a billowing musketeer silk blouse and stovepipe pants whose very proper English morning stripe is scrolled with very un-proper gothic blooms. The next, she is feeling for something that is free, loose, and flowing – a rose griffe print silk dress that skims over her body before languidly flaring out towards the floor. If she needs something to throw on top, she’ll grab the lean, nipped-shouldered wool coat with velvet buttons that she borrowed from her Kensington nanny, the coat she could never be bothered to return. Yet no matter what she wears, this Chloé girl is never without her jewel-like compact bag, in shiny leather rimmed with python, which hangs from her shoulder by a multi-chain strap. Super pointed spike heels in patent leather and crocodile sharpen up the look.

There are amply proportioned, masculine-look overcoats, with folkloric side slits, in classic English herringbone or check tweeds, slipped over bejeweled organza and mousseline tutu skirts. Victorian-inspired narrow cuffs and a high neckline adorn a lace cocktail dress… Lace or gazar polo shirts and cropped, straight fit boyfriend sweaters are the crucial underpinnings… And add this season’s essential Lurex leggings or floral glitter tights, and the whole look really rocks.

Chloé’s long-standing tradition of richly imaginative prints is continued. There are many ornate, opulent patterns—border-edged Pallenberg paisleys, bold medallions, and naive lace designs that look like they have been collaged from the furnishing remnants of a once sumptuous, now abandoned manor house. The color palette is like a jewelry box being opened on a darkening winter’s day: amethyst, rose, and evergreen, contrasted with black, biscuit, smoke grey, and midnight. “This season, the CHLOé girl belongs to the magpie school of looking good. She is a little vagabond, a little boheme, in spirit, and in her life” says Paulo Melim Andersson, Chief Designer of the house.

This is truly an evidence that MacGibbon holds a key to the It-ness, the spontaneous, non-intellectual-girl knack that is central to Chloé.
